ICONS wins GESS Awards 2024 in Dubai

What a year it has been! As we wrap up 2024, we take a moment to gratefully celebrate our achievements and look ahead with excitement to what the future holds. Here’s a glimpse at how we’ve been shaping the world of digital learning—and what’s next on the horizon.
Let’s take a look back at what made this year truly remarkable!

More High-Quality Content with mAuthor

Imagine an educational library that never stops growing, where every page is interactive, every lesson is alive, and learning feels like an adventure. With mAuthor, this vision became a reality!
With mAuthor, we created over 108,000 interactive screens, (not including countless more created by our clients), making digital learning more engaging and fun. We also transformed around 10,000 PDF pages, enriching them with advanced interactivity to create immersive learning materials and expanded our collection of 150+ interactive modules with three more: 3D Model Viewer, Geometric Construction, and Targeted Zoom to help publishers add even more interactivity to their content.
To ensure our partners got the most out of mAuthor, we hosted 150+ hours of professional training, empowering content creators to craft digital masterpieces.

Supporting WCAG 2.2 Compliance in Digital Education

By June 28, 2025, educational publishers distributing content in the European Union must ensure their digital materials comply with WCAG 2.2 requirements. In the United Kingdom, these regulations have been in effect since October 2024, making the transition even more urgent. That’s one of the reasons why 2024 is called a year of breaking barriers and ensuring accessible learning for everyone.
We have always supported our partners in creating accessible content. This year, we took it a step further by providing expert consultations to help publishers evaluate and improve their materials in line with WCAG 2.2. With over 20 years of experience in developing accessible digital content, we’re always happy to share our expertise and help make educational content truly accessible.

Through mAuthor’s built-in accessibility features, students can listen to lessons with Text-to-Speech (TTS), navigate and interact with a keyboard, use a screen reader, and adjust visual settings with Dark Mode and Zoom. These aren’t just features—they are essential tools that open doors to knowledge for learners who need them most.

In one of our projects, we placed particular emphasis on WCAG compliance. The goal was to transform abstract and potentially challenging topics — such as chemical reactions, molecular structures, physical phenomena, and global geographical processes — into engaging, accessible learning experiences that not only inform but truly inspire student curiosity.

“We aimed to create a product that was both clear and comprehensive, but without overwhelming a student.”

Karolina Grochola

Head of Digital Content Development

We did it! ICONS (Interactive Charts of Natural Science) content package features over 1,030 interactive screens and has been recognized with the GESS Dubai 2024 Award for Best Resource for Secondary Education.

AI-Powered Digital Education: Transforming Learning

Is AI able to replace a real, caring, and attentive teacher? We believe it is not. This, however, does not mean that it cannot be useful in supporting teaching and learning in specific areas.
Learnetic’s AI-powered modules can answer students’ questions about subject matter, correct mistakes, and provide feedback on assignments:

  • AI Tutor for casual conversations with students turned lessons into engaging, interactive dialogues.
  • AI for Mastering Vocabulary enhanced language learning with an intuitive, contextual approach.
  • AI Descriptive & Quantitative Feedback provide students with real-time, insightful progress tracking—like having a personal coach.
  • AI Open-Ended Activities Grading relieved teachers of repetitive grading tasks, freeing up time for more meaningful instruction. They can either accept the AI-suggested grade or input their own grade instead.

This wasn’t just about making things easier—it was about making learning more effective, and tailored to the student’s unique journey.

A Truly Global Reach

Now, let’s imagine Taylor Swift’s concert – the biggest one with over 90,000 people crowd. Now, multiply it by 5. Isn’t that an amazing view? :) 450,000 people! That’s the same as the number of new learners from all over the world who have interacted with lessons on mCourser.
They generated an impressive 52 million digital lessons views on the platform, showing just how essential interactive learning has become. To put that into perspective, if each lesson were a song, students would have played through more than half of Spotify’s entire library!
Our global reach kept growing, as we enriched Educational Publishing in 6 more countries South Korea, Turkiye, Tunisia, Latvia, Morocco, and Vietnam, adapting our educational ePublishing services to diverse cultural and educational contexts.

Taking Innovation on the Road: Learnetic Global Tour

Innovation is best shared in person, and that’s exactly what we did in 2024. We hit the road for the Learnetic Global Tour, showcasing our latest practical innovations at 10 international, educational events across three continents.

ICONS benefits

We traveled the world, connecting with educators, publishers, and policymakers who share our vision for a more engaging and impactful learning experience. With over 15,000 handshakes (yes, we tried to count them, for the time being), we may not have set a world record, but we certainly connected with an incredible number of passionate educators and industry leaders. Each handshake wasn’t just a greeting—it was an opportunity to exchange ideas, spark meaningful discussions, and collaborate on shaping digital education.
